My Girona
Standing atop Montserrat, we spied the Pyrenees as our guide told us about a little city, Girona, with pivotal history and unique culture that would be a good day out from bustling Barcelona. I looked up a few recommendations as we were driving back home that evening, Matt booked our train tickets, and the next morning we made our way there.
Montserrat
Before I’d ever dreamed of coming to Spain, my younger sister had shared with me that her day trip to Montserrat was life-changing for her. I took note and made sure it was on our list for one of our days in Barcelona. It’s a mountain about an hour northwest that was known as “Mons Serratus” (saw-toothed) to the Romans, and as “Montsagrat” (sacred mountain) to the Catalans of the area.
First Time to Spain
Matt and I flew to Barcelona for a week and I don’t think we’ve ever loved or laughed or walked so much (just 52 miles in 5 days 🚶♀️)! And I have to say, I am really starting to feel way more comfortable planning a trip and finding the best tours and tickets. Everything we did was so worth our time and went seamlessly.
Quick Swiss Trip
Say that three times fast! 😆 Last weekend I hopped in a car with eighteen other women (ok, there were three cars to be exact) and drove a few hours to Bern, Switzerland. We were squeezed in like sardines with sleeping bags, and pillows and overnight bags filling every possible space. We all got to know each other really quickly, and really well which is something I desperately needed.
