#LifeinTheTimeofCorona

We didn’t plan for this.

I sit at my desk reviewing blog posts from years passed, wondering where to start with this refreshed website and the tone I want to set going forward, but these days are different.

There is fear and faith, apathy and empathy abounding across the news and social media world. Every single person is impacted in some way. Some are sick and dying, doctors and nurses are working like never before, many others are losing jobs and paychecks, so many moms are figuring out homeschooling, and some industries are working around the clock.

For me? I have always worked from home so the pivot isn’t too life changing. I switched to virtual violin and piano lessons a couple years ago and run a virtual skincare business that is thriving during this time, but the impacts are still present across most facets of life.

Here is what I know for sure:

The words we attach to our experience become our experience. If we foster anxiety, that is exactly what will fill our hearts and minds. Our output reflects our input, so choose your inputs wisely. I choose to read the news one time a day and have been more strict on using social media. I search for the good things that are happening because of COVID-19, while praying for those who are suffering and for the leaders who are guiding the response.

We will come out of this and hopefully learn to be better prepared across all areas of our life. More toilet paper already on hand! An additional source of income to rely on, and better relationships to hold on to. A heart filled with gratitude for times we can gather once again.

I know these days are different, and worth writing about, so I am starting right here. Welcome to the blog, 3/2020. I’m glad you’re with me!
