Legoland Germany

My amazing friends, Dawn and Shannon, and I were determined to have a fun day out with all of our kids together this summer and Legoland was the perfect spot! We live just one hour away and all of our kids are obsessed with Lego.

We rode all the rides and did all the shopping and ate all the good food and really enjoyed the day. Nola is always my little daredevil and wants to go on all the biggest rides. Brian is a little more cautious, but if I can talk him into sitting with me, he always seems to realize he is more brave than he remembered and ends up loving it. I love noticing the things that Emme notices and enjoys. Sometimes I find myself totally surprised, like I am getting to know a fun friend everyday. She is a cool girl and I love when she will spend time with us. I definitely missed Joel, my oldest son, who has always been a Lego fan and would have appreciated all the fun details and rides of the park.

I always feel my best self when I am planning and making fun memories happen for my family. I don’t know what it is, but I am always thinking about how they will remember things in the future, and what they will remember. I did so many cute and fun things when they were younger and sometimes I feel so tired now that my initial impulse is to skip some outings, or not spend too much effort in planning something fun. But I am always glad when I do it. I just need to keep reminding my tired self that I will be my happiest self when I do it.

I think we will plan to hit Legoland with friends again next year, or maybe another fun amusement park here in Germany. There are so many!
