Disneyland Paris

We love Disneyland and Disneyworld and now Disneyland Paris too. This was our first time going and experiencing both the Magic Kingdom Park and Hollywood Studios and we had so much fun. We stayed in a small apartment in Serris, just 1 mile from the entrance and enjoyed two days doing all the rides, falling in love with our favorites, and planning to come back.

Some Things We Loved

The show Mickey and the Magician was really so fun! I kept looking over at the kids’ faces loving seeing them all lit up and smiling throughout the whole thing. It was in both French and English so that if you only spoke one of those languages you still could get what was going on. It really was in the quality of a Broadway show and I know we will make it a priority to go to it again. We loved it!

We really lucked out with the places we chose to eat at. The food was excellent at the Coco Restaurant serving Mexican food which is something really hard to find here in Europe. We also loved the Hakuna Matata Restaurant serving African-inspired dishes. And of course, we visited the Five Guys burger restaurant just outside the park for Matt.

We really love how the familiar rides are just different enough to be extra fun. Space Mountain was aligned with the Star Wars franchise and was such a fun roller coaster! We all wished we could have ridden that one over and over and over again. Pirates of the Caribbean is also different. Some of the things that have been changed at the California and Florida parks to be more socially correct have not been changed on the Paris ride. It is also fun to hear the characters speaking the familiar phrases in French. Big Thunder Mountain is also the same but different. WE LOVE THIS ONE! And Phantom Manor, and the Avengers ride in Hollywood Studios. It felt like fun discovery the whole day.

I continue to only want to go to Disneyland in the off season and midweek to avoid the crowds. It’s just so much more enjoyable when there are minimal waits for the rides and smaller crowds for the shows and parades. I think we will absolutely have to plan to go again when Joel is home from serving as a missionary next Fall.
