What a whirlwind summer it has been! Lots of precious time with my family and traveling; not as much time practicing as I had intended. But, that’s okay. I’ve set a new practice list, clarified goals, fixed performance dates, and know I have a lot of work to do to connect to my music and performances. It’s thrilling and frightening all at once.
A true highlight that has come to fruition in the last few months is this interview I did for Ownit Magazine. I love the mission and purpose of this magazine–to uplift, empower, embolden, encourage, inspire and assure women everywhere, no matter what life circumstances they may find themselves. While it features well-known powerhouse women we may read of in the news, it also covers those of us in the trenches, doing equally important, invaluable work each day.
I am one of those women in the trenches and I’ll tell you, I haven’t always thought of myself as important, invaluable, or successful. It is still something I question daily, in fact. But in recent years, I have felt an undeniable realization that no matter what accolades, awards, or recognition I receive, or do not receive, I have intrinsic worth. I have the power to uplift and encourage and love those around me. This is power. This elevates not only those I serve, but myself as well. I feel greater joy, peace, and hope in the daily tasks of life.
Please take a look at the articles of this incredible magazine and share it with the women in your life. Subscriptions are free and available to everyone. I hope that my story will lend hope to someone who may come across it. I feel so grateful and blessed to have been introduced to the magazine’s creator and Editor, Sietske Cuhfus, who is wholly dedicated to empowering women everywhere and making success not just a dream, but a reality for them.
